International Cooperation

International Cooperation deals with the following item of work in the Ministry.

 i)   Formulate a long term global strategy for the country pertaining to Petroleum & Natural Gas.

ii)   Set up an information and Archival Database for Ministry regarding all the countries of relevance in the

iii)  Participation at multilateral fora to address and pursue issues of interest to India such as organization and functioning of oil markets, cooperation between academic and research institutions to promote R&D, transfer of technology, training, dissemination/joint sharing of data on hydrocarbons sector etc.

iv)  Liaison with Indian Missions abroad and Ministry of External Affairs and Foreign Mission at New Delhi.

 v)      Participation in bilateral bodies such as Joint Commissions and Joint Working Groups on Hydrocarbons to ensure that India’s interests in specific countries, particularly in the area of trade and investment, are forcefully projected and pursued.

vi)     Pursue with Missions abroad and foreign Missions in India for the following

a.      Equity participation in developed fields.

b.     Exploration and production contracts in new fields, both oil and natural gas.

c.     Participation in mid-stream and down stream projects in the oil and gas sector.

d.     Promotion of India participation in trans-national oil and gas pipeline projects.
